Pets Reign Supreme At LuxiaSuites

Traveling for work can be tough. You’re away from your home and all the comforts that come with it on top of working in a new, unfamiliar place. But LuxiaSuites guests will be able to bring one comfort of home along with them on trips — LuxiaSuites are pet-friendly so you can let Fluffy stay in your room! Seeing your pet after a long day of work can instantly help alleviate stress, and you won’t have to pay a pet sitter. Plus, Wilmington is accommodating as well. The city is brimming with places to take your pet and home to numerous stores where you can pamper them. So next time you’re on a business trip with Fido, know that both of you will have plenty of amenities.

Pet Stores

Wilmington is home to a PetSmart so you can stock up on food, beds and accessories for your pet. This location of the national chain also offers grooming and training services that you can take advantage of. If your pet does have any health issues when you’re in Delaware, you can head to this PetSmart (it’s also home to comprehensive veterinary hospital Banfield Pet Hospital). If you’d prefer to keep it local, Concord Pet Foods and Supplies has three locations in the city. Customers can stock up on food, supplies and toys for your dogs, cats, birds and small animals here.

Pet Parks

If you’re looking to take your pet out to get some fresh air, Wilmington is home to plenty of outdoor areas where Spot can roam free. Head to Talley Day Bark Park if you want your furry friend to play in a well-maintained, fenced-in park. This park also holds events for pets too. If your pet is OK to be off leash, feel free to take them to Carousel Farm Off Leash. Carousel also has a pond that animals can cool off in. Brandywine Park Off Leash Area offers a designed area for pets to play in. Pets also are welcome on-leash at Wilmington’s friendly public neighborhood park Rockford Park.

Accommodating Restaurants

If you’re a craft-beer lover, head to Iron Hill Brewery & Restaurant for brews and creative and casual plates (like pan-seared scallops or Hawaiian-spiced ahi tuna). When the weather’s nice, you can sit alfresco with your dog in tow. Espresso fans will appreciate the dog-friendly atmosphere patio Brew Ha Ha. Head here for coffee options and light options like sandwiches, salads and pastries.

No matter how long you plan on staying in Wilmington, you’ll definitely be able to keep Fido or Fifi smiling and happy with the plethora of pet-friendly amenities in and near LuxiaSuites!
